Our mission: Aligning plant-based protein supply with demand

Plantrients was incorporated in 2021 by a group of investors to build and commission a wet pea fractionation facility with an annual processing capacity of 100,000mt in the City of Moose Jaw (Saskatchewan, Canada) from 2022 to 2025.

The finished products (pea isolate/pea protein, pea starch and pea fibre, both in conventional and organic quality) are highly sought-after food ingredients addressing the booming plant-based foods market. Analysts expect that demand for pea proteins will exceed supply soon.

The project follows the investment hypothesis that the supply chains for plant-based foods will experience rapid growth. However, the upstream stages in the value chains of this industry are significantly uninvested. Thus, processing capacities for pulses/ingredients have hardly expanded.
